MINERALOGY: Sodalite is an amazing royal blue gemstone with white calcite specks scattered on it. It is often confused with Lapis Lazuli gemstone. The name ‘sodalite’ comes from the Greek words soda and lithos, meaning salt stone. It is chemically known sodium aluminum silicate chloride.
