MINERALOGY: Strawberry Quartz is a type of quartz that has inclusions of other minerals that create the red color, and the included mineral inclusions can make it appear pink, and some pieces may be slightly translucent. The minerals included in these stones varies, but are a mix of Goethite, Lepidocrocite, Rutile and Ferric iron in a silica base making them a variety of quartz crystal. These crystals are fairly rare as they are found in only one location in Chihuahua Mexico. This stone used to be uncommon, but is now more readily available.
